Tata Group’s aviation business under Air India Group has made significant strides in financial performance, according to the Tata Sons FY24 annual report.

Tata Sons has initiated the consolidation of its airline entities Vistara, AirAsia India, and Air India Express under Air India, making Air India the country’s second largest airline in terms of fleet and market share.
Singapore Airlines chief executive Goh Choon Phong stated that equity investment in Vistara has helped the airline broaden its geographic reach, resulting in a significant increase in passenger base.
The remaining stock stakes in AirAsia (India) were sold by the AirAsia Aviation Group to Air India, which is currently owned by the Tatas.
