IndiGo, India’s largest airline, looks close to inducting its first freighter plane as it seeks to capture the crash in air cargo driven by the pandemic.

The airline, which had made a partial reinstatement of salary for pilots, is yet to restore pre-covid salaries. India’s biggest airline IndiGo on Friday reinstated the flying allowance of its pilots to pre-pandemic levels as its flight operations are recovering.

American Airlines and IndiGo have launched a codeshare deal that permits the former to sell seats on the latter’s flights operating on Delhi-Bengaluru and Delhi-Mumbai routes, a report told on Thursday.

In an official statement, the low-cost carrier explained that it has installed a new water faucet by which it has saved 12.42 liters of water per flight for an average length of 138 minutes. IndiGo now operates 1,500 daily flights with an average flight duration of 98 minutes.

IndiGo is in talks with three to four more global carriers for operational alliances and expects to have 12 in the next two to three years.
