IndiGo Technicians’ mass sick leave, a silent protest that started in Hyderabad, and continued in Delhi is now a nationwide protest.

          IndiGo Technicians’ sick leave

In Hyderabad 22 out of 25 IndiGo technicians didn’t report for the night shift and 12 out of 14 Reported sick leave in the morning shift.

All 70 IndiGo technicians didn’t report for the night shift at Delhi Airport and the same happened in the Morning.

At Kolkata (CCU) base almost 50% of technicians reported sick leave.

Bangalore and Chennai base has also reported that technicians are taking mass sick leave in the morning, afternoon, and night shifts.

At Bangalore Base in the afternoon shift, 15 out of 17 Technicians reported sick leave.

Mumbai base which is one of the busiest bases is not behind in reporting such sick leave.

The Technician, Told us to Remain Unknown has mentioned that such sick leave will continue on other bases.

IndiGo Technicians are doing strikes in form of sick leave as they can lose jobs due to Strict HR policies.

Why IndiGo Technicians are on Mass Sick Leave?

          Pay-cut
          Unfair-salary-cuts

Technicians told us that the main reason for this protest is they want Salary Hike.

One technician said there is hardly any Increment in Salary from the past 3-4 Years.

Also, they said they have been working for the same salary after Promotion from Junior technician to Aircraft Technician.

Talking About Numbers, the starting salary at the Indigo airlines trainee technician post is 8,000, and it will remain the same for almost 18 months.

Also, Aircraft Technicians (AT) receive only 20,000 per month and hardly get an increment in years.

Some said there is an increment in a few hundred despite promotion from lower to higher post.

Highly Qualified and Professional Technicians deserve more than the current pay.

          Support For Aircraft Technicians

Many Professionals from different airlines and MROs are in support of such brave technicians,

They have shown their support on Social Media Platforms,

In aviation we have a philosophy, When any incident happens rather than asking how/what happened we ask 'why it happened' so Regarding Technicians mass debunking at various Indigo Engg bases here is your "WHY" @DGCAIndia @MoCA_GoI pic.twitter.com/3Liml5vA7B

          IndiGo Threatened Technicians

IndiGo Management has warned aircraft Technicians of firing if they continued such sick leave.

          Fired
          You are fired

Technicians are in fear and only want that their demands are fulfilled.

They have been forced to work extra hours and more workload for each technician.

Also Indigo is compromising safety standards by releasing aircraft with less manpower

Such a smart but illegal step taken by @IndiGo6E while many of Technician reported mass sick leave due to salary issue, they are calling other base's Techs without valid AEP as passenger & forcing them to work different airports. That is such a shame on @BCAS & @AAI_Official

          — Amit Kumar (@amit__320) July 9, 2022

          We Stand with Technicians

The IndiGo must talk with Technicians and solve their issues by raising base pay and reducing workload.

There is not a shortage of manpower and that’s why such airlines exploit such qualified professionals.

We stand together with Such Brave and qualified technicians for better pay, work schedule, and a Safe Environment.

If we didn’t raise our voice against this unfair treatment then corporations will continue such exploitations.

We request all Aviation professionals to tweet about this issue, share this news and support our brave technicians.
