Singapore Airlines confirmed that Flight SQ301 was carrying 233 passengers and 18 crew when it diverted to Baku due to a medical situation onboard.
According to the airline, a passenger became suddenly unwell, prompting the crew to seek medical assistance mid-flight.
A medical professional on board attended to the passenger before the aircraft landed safely at Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD). Upon landing, the passenger was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Airline Response and Passenger Safety Protocols
Singapore Airlines emphasized that the safety and well-being of passengers and crew remain its highest priority. The carrier routinely equips flights with medical supplies and trains its crew to manage in-flight medical events until professional help becomes available.
Diversions such as this are coordinated with local air traffic and medical authorities to ensure the quickest possible care.
In most cases, the decision to divert is made collaboratively between the flight deck and airline operations, following medical advice received through onboard communication systems, The Straits Times.
