DUBAI- Emirates (EK), through its cargo division Emirates SkyCargo, transported more than 153,000 tonnes of Indian exports during FY 2025/26, connecting businesses with customers across major international markets. Bengaluru (BLR), Chennai (MAA), and Hyderabad (HYD) have also gained new weekly freighter services.
India moves an estimated 2.2 million tonnes of international air cargo through its airports each year. Emirates SkyCargo supports this export ecosystem with more than 3,000 tonnes of weekly cargo capacity across 9 Indian gateways.
Emirates SkyCargo Expands India’s Global Export Reach
Emirates SkyCargo is increasing its support for India’s export economy as manufacturing, production, and international trade continue to expand. Air cargo provides an important link for Indian businesses moving high-value and time-sensitive products to customers in overseas markets.
During FY 2025/26, Emirates SkyCargo transported more than 153,000 tonnes of exports from India.
The shipments covered key sectors including pharmaceuticals, perishables, high-tech electronics, engineering and automotive components, and fashion goods.
The carrier provides more than 3,000 tonnes of weekly air cargo capacity across 9 Indian gateways. Its network connects Indian exporters with destinations throughout the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and beyond.
Major Export Flows
Pharmaceuticals account for a significant share of India’s cargo handled by Emirates SkyCargo. The carrier transports more than 650 tonnes of pharmaceuticals from India each week to global destinations through Dubai.
Fresh food and other perishables also form a major part of the export flow, with more than 600 tonnes transported from India every week.
Seasonal products are another important part of the network. Emirates SkyCargo transported close to 2,900 tonnes of Indian mangoes to global customers between April and June 2026.
The range of goods reflects the role of air cargo in supporting sectors that contribute to India’s export and manufacturing activity.
New Freighter Services Add Capacity
Emirates SkyCargo has introduced new weekly freighter services to Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, bringing its total number of weekly freighter flights serving India to seven.
The new freighter services complement the capacity available through Emirates’ passenger network, which operates 167 weekly passenger flights from India.
Together, the freighter and passenger operations provide Indian exporters with additional access to international trade routes through Dubai.
The expanded freighter network also increases dedicated cargo capacity at 3 major Indian gateways, strengthening the carrier’s ability to support growing export demand.
India-UAE Trade Corridor Continues to Grow
Emirates SkyCargo is supporting rising trade between India and the UAE as economic ties between the two countries deepen.
The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between India and the UAE came into effect in May 2022. Non-oil trade between the two economies has been growing at an annual rate of around 15%, supporting higher cargo flows between the markets.
During FY 2025/26, Emirates SkyCargo transported more than 28,000 tonnes of exports from India to the UAE. The volume increased by 24% compared with the previous year.
The India-UAE trade corridor also benefits from Dubai’s role as a connecting point for Indian exports moving onward to markets across the Middle East, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and other regions.
Emirates SkyCargo also provides Indian customers with road feeder services that connect its online air cargo gateways with offline locations across Indian states.
More than 4,500 tonnes of import and export cargo moved through the carrier’s trucking connectivity during the last 12 months.
The service enables businesses outside major gateway cities to access Emirates SkyCargo’s wider international network.
Road feeder connectivity complements the airline’s air cargo operations by extending access beyond the cities served directly by its aircraft.

Emirates SkyCargo provides cargo capacity across Emirates’ fleet of more than 280 aircraft, including dedicated freighters. The division serves customers across 6 continents and operates a network covering more than 150 destinations.
Its specialized transportation solutions cover pharmaceuticals, perishables, electronics, e-commerce, aerospace, valuable cargo, and other cargo categories requiring dedicated handling and logistics expertise.
