DGCA is an Indian regulatory body and is silent over Mass sick leave by Indigo & Go First Technicians.
IndiGo Technicians are on Mass Sick Leave for 5 days supported by Go First Technicians for the last 3 days.
The Indigo and Go first are also reported to carry out illegal and unethical malpractices amid Technicians’ mass sick leave.
Why IndiGo and Go First Technicians are on Mass Sick Leave?
Technicians told us that the main reason for this protest is they want Salary Hike.
One technician said there is hardly any Increment in Salary from the past 3-4 Years.
Also, the Go First crew and Technicians are yet to receive last month’s salary.
Also, they said they have been working for the same salary after Promotion from Junior technician to Aircraft Technician.
Talking About Numbers, the starting salary at the Indigo airlines trainee technician post is 8,000, and it will remain the same for almost 18 months.
Also, Aircraft Technicians (AT) receive only 20,000 per month and hardly get an increment in years.
Some said there is an increment in a few hundred despite promotion from lower to higher post.
Highly Qualified and Professional Technicians deserve more than the current pay.
DGCA silence over Protest
This is not the first time DGCA is silent, earlier also when AI Engineering and SpiceJet technicians were on strike it has not issued any circular or notice regarding this national issue.
we also request our Honourable minister of civil aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia Ji to conduct a high-level meeting over this Protest.
DGCA must take necessary action and should give a statement amid cabin crew and Now technicians’ sick leave.
There has been reporting that due to mass sick leave by technicians, airlines are using Nonprofessional cleaners for maintenance.
Also Indigo has issued a statement saying we will sort out this issue over 2 weeks but this is just a step to stopping technicians’ protest.
Also Indigo & Go First is compromising safety standards by releasing aircraft with less manpower.
We request all Aviation professionals to tweet about this issue, share this news and support our brave technicians.
