Air India subsidiaries Air India Express and AirAsia India switched to a unified website, reservation system, and customer support channels on Tuesday. According to the group, the move will allow passengers to manage bookings and check-in for domestic and international flights on the integrated website, Airindiaexpress.com.
Merger
The Air India Vistara merger will have a significant impact on the two carriers’ workforce. Nonetheless, the consequences will be severe for both airlines’ employees.
Vistara and Air India, both owned by Tata Sons, have begun their integration process in order to finalise the merger as soon as possible.
Tata Sons has initiated the consolidation of its airline entities Vistara, AirAsia India, and Air India Express under Air India, making Air India the country’s second largest airline in terms of fleet and market share.
