Air India Pilots

Air India announced on Friday that it will hire 4,200 cabin crew and 900 pilots to support its fleet development goals until 2023.

Air India has begun hiring across all ranks and roles in preparation for the delivery of the 470 aircraft from Boeing and Airbus. Currently, the airline employs around 140 people to support approximately 140 planes.

Air India, which previously retired pilots at 58, would now grant a few pilots an extension for an additional five years as it gets ready for a significant fleet increase.

According to an internal message, Air India, which is controlled by the Tata Group, has offered to re-hire pilots after they retire for a five-year period

Due to a dearth of pilots who can fly larger aircraft like the B 747, Air India has had to rely on its smaller aircraft (Boeing 787 Dreamliner)

The board of directors of Civil Aviation DGCA has suggested pilots to avoid self-medication and taking over-the-counter medication because it might be prejudicial to their flying performance.
