DELHI- Air India (AI) diverted a Singapore-bound flight back to Delhi after a technical warning was detected shortly after departure, ensuring passenger safety.
The Boeing 787-9 operating from Delhi (DEL) to Singapore (SIN) landed safely, with passengers later continuing their journey on an alternate aircraft.

Air India Singapore Flight Returns to Delhi
The incident involved Air India flight AI2380, operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner carrying around 190 passengers.
Soon after take-off from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi (DEL), the aircraft received an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) fire warning. As per standard safety protocol, the flight crew chose to discontinue the onward journey and return to the departure airport.
Flight tracking data showed the aircraft remained airborne for roughly one hour before making a safe landing back in Delhi at around 1 am on Thursday. The decision was precautionary and aligned with established operational safety procedures for wide-body aircraft.
Air India confirmed the return through an official statement, noting that the crew acted swiftly after identifying a suspected technical issue. Ground teams in Delhi assisted affected passengers upon arrival.
To minimise disruption, the airline arranged an alternative aircraft, allowing passengers to resume their journey to Singapore (SIN) later the same day. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and reiterated its focus on safety as the top priority.
