ISTANBUL- Turkish Airlines (TK) is strengthening air links between Istanbul Airport (IST) and Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) by adding four more weekly flights, bringing the total to 14 from 26 October.
With two daily departures in each direction, travelers will have greater flexibility and more convenient options for connecting through the airline’s global network of over 350 destinations.

Turkish Airlines Abu Dhabi Flights
From 26 October, Turkish Airlines (TK) will operate twice-daily services between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Istanbul (IST).
The first flight departs AUH at 01:35 and arrives in Istanbul at 05:30, while the second leaves at 07:55 and lands at 12:10 local time. Fares on the route start from AED 950.
According to Erol Şenol, Vice President of Sales for the Middle East and Cyprus, the enhanced schedule underlines the airline’s commitment to offering passengers more choice, convenience, and connectivity.
The additional frequencies strengthen Istanbul’s position as a key transit hub, linking the Gulf region to destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas.

A Gateway to Culture and Global Travel
Istanbul, one of the world’s most visited cities, continues to attract travelers with landmarks like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace.
The city’s accessibility adds to its appeal, offering public beaches along the Black Sea coast just an hour from the city center by metro.
Beyond tourism, the twice-daily service enhances business and leisure connectivity between Türkiye and the GCC. With short flight times and strong cultural ties, Türkiye remains a top choice for Gulf travelers seeking both leisure and investment opportunities.
The GCC is among Türkiye’s fastest-growing source markets. In 2024, Türkiye welcomed 62.3 million international visitors—a 9.8% year-on-year increase—making it the world’s fourth-largest inbound market.

Abu Dhabi Travel Guide
The capital of the United Arab Emirates is a city of contrasts—heritage sites meet futuristic skylines, and serene beaches stretch beside vibrant cultural hubs.
For travelers flying into Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) or connecting through airlines such as Etihad Airways, understanding local customs and practical details makes the experience far smoother.
Beyond its architecture and hospitality, Abu Dhabi’s charm lies in its balance—between modern living and traditional values. Knowing how to navigate its social norms, climate, and city systems helps visitors appreciate the city with respect and confidence.
Understanding the Spirit of Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi blends a deep cultural identity with cosmopolitan flair. As the UAE’s largest emirate, covering over 67,000 sq km, it offers more than the capital city itself.
The inland Rub al Khali, known as the Empty Quarter, reveals endless dunes, while Al Ain and Liwa Oasis showcase ancient forts and palm groves. Spending at least four days allows travelers to explore both the modern city and its quieter, historical side.
The emirate’s reputation for safety is well-earned. Locals often return lost belongings, and crimes such as theft and pickpocketing are rare. Even late at night, most areas remain safe for solo travelers and families. This sense of security forms part of what makes Abu Dhabi welcoming to millions of visitors each year.

Getting Around Efficiently
The Abu Dhabi Taxi app is a must-have. It allows travelers to book taxis directly without standing in the heat. Vehicles generally arrive within minutes and are equipped with meters for transparent fares. Those traveling beyond the city can also use the Careem app, which operates across the UAE.
For budget-friendly transport, the free Experience Abu Dhabi Shuttle Bus connects key attractions such as Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Louvre Abu Dhabi, and Qasr Al Watan. Public buses are accessible via the prepaid Hafilat Smart Card, available at central bus stations or major supermarkets like Lulu Hypermarket.
Dress and Cultural Etiquette
Respectful dressing depends on where you are. At cultural and religious sites, wear clothing that covers shoulders, arms, and knees. Women visiting Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque must cover their hair with a scarf and wear modest attire; robes are provided if needed. At hotels and beaches, swimwear is acceptable, but modesty is appreciated at public beaches.
Locals value politeness and discretion. Avoid public displays of affection, swearing, or loud behavior. During Ramadan, eating or drinking in public during daylight hours is discouraged, though food is available in hotel and mall restaurants.

Photography and Communication
Photography laws in Abu Dhabi protect individual privacy. Always ask before photographing people, especially women and children. Sharing unauthorized photos online can result in fines or legal consequences.
Learning a few Arabic phrases goes a long way—simple greetings like as salam alaykum (peace be upon you) and shukran (thank you) are appreciated. When meeting someone of the opposite sex, wait for them to initiate a handshake. Using your right hand for eating, offering, or receiving items is a sign of respect.
Local Laws and Safety Rules
Alcohol is served in licensed venues such as hotel bars and restaurants, but never in public spaces. Drunk driving carries severe penalties, including imprisonment and fines starting at AED 20,000 (USD 5,445).
Public indecency, rude gestures, or aggressive behavior are illegal. Same-sex relationships are also prohibited by law. Visitors are advised to remain courteous in all public interactions.
For emergencies, contact Abu Dhabi Police on 999 for immediate assistance, including medical and rescue support.
Experiencing the City with Awareness
What makes Abu Dhabi memorable is the ease with which it blends order and openness. Locals take pride in hospitality and appreciate visitors who show the same courtesy in return. Understanding these cultural nuances not only prevents misunderstandings but also deepens the traveler’s connection with the city.
