ISTANBUL- Turkish Airlines (TK) has permanently removed 11 destinations from its future schedule, following gradual operational changes through September 2026.
The Star Alliance member has also delayed the planned return of Aqaba and Havana to March 2027, while 5 destinations in Iran are tentatively scheduled to resume from March 28, 2027.
Turkish Airlines Removes 11 Destinations Into 2027
Turkish Airlines has continued to adjust its operating schedule in recent weeks, with further changes made through the week of September 11, 2026.
Earlier this year, the airline cancelled service to a number of destinations that had been expected to return during the Northern winter 2026/27 and Northern summer 2027 seasons.
As of September 11, 2026, the majority of those previously cancelled destinations have now been permanently removed from the airline’s future schedule. Aqaba and Havana are exceptions, while several destinations in Iran remain tentatively scheduled for a later resumption.
According to the schedule update reported by Aeroroutes, the latest changes separate the affected routes into permanent removals, delayed resumptions and tentative future services.
11 Destinations Permanently Removed
Turkish Airlines has permanently removed 5 destinations that were previously cancelled through October 24, 2026, inclusive.
These destinations are:
- Juba, South Sudan
- Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo
- Libreville, Gabon
- Luanda, Angola
- Lusaka, Zambia
The 5 cities are therefore no longer planned to return after the previous cancellation period.
Turkish Airlines has also permanently removed 6 destinations that were previously cancelled through March 27, 2027, inclusive.
These destinations are:
- Billund, Denmark
- Ferghana, Uzbekistan
- Kirkuk, Iraq
- Leipzig/Halle, Germany
- Najaf, Iraq
- Turkistan, Kazakhstan
The two groups bring the total number of destinations permanently removed from the future schedule to 11.
Aqaba and Havana Return Delayed
Aqaba and Havana have not been permanently removed. Both destinations were previously scheduled to resume from the week of October 25, 2026. Turkish Airlines has now moved their earliest planned resumption to the week of March 28, 2027.
The revised schedule therefore places the potential return of both destinations in the Northern summer 2027 season rather than the Northern winter 2026/27 season.
Five Iranian Destinations Remain Tentative
Turkish Airlines is taking a different approach to 5 destinations in Iran.
The airline now tentatively schedules service to the following destinations from March 28, 2027, at the earliest:
- Esfahan
- Mashhad
- Shiraz
- Tabriz
- Tehran Imam Khomeini
Unlike the 11 permanently removed destinations, these 5 Iranian routes have not been permanently deleted from the future schedule. Their March 28, 2027 return date remains tentative and may therefore change.
Schedule Adjustments Continue Into 2027
The latest update reflects Turkish Airlines’ ongoing schedule adjustments following the cancellations announced earlier in 2026.
The status of the affected destinations now falls into three clear categories. Eleven destinations have been permanently removed, Aqaba and Havana have been delayed to March 2027, and five Iranian destinations are tentatively scheduled for a March 2027 return.
Further changes remain highly possible as Turkish Airlines continues to update its future operating schedule.
