DELHI- A 63-year-old French national who lost consciousness at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) was rescued by a CISF personnel, according to a spokesperson for the force on Sunday. The personnel promptly applied cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to revive the man.
The incident occurred around noon on January 26 when Bertrand Patrick was in line for a security check before boarding a Vistara (UK) Airlines flight to Paris. However, Mr. Patrick fainted in the security hold area.
CISF Saves Life of French Man
CISF Sub-Inspector Puneet Kumar Tiwari, stationed nearby working on the x-ray scanner, quickly responded, administering CPR, which successfully revived the passenger.
A doctor based at the IGI was summoned, and he provided the initial medical care to the passenger, as mentioned by the spokesperson.
Mr. Patrick exhibited rapid improvement, and the doctor subsequently deemed him fit to proceed with the flight.
“Thanks to the vigilance and swift response of the CISF personnel, a valuable life was preserved,” stated the official.
CPR, an emergency life-saving technique employed when the heart ceases to beat, was administered in this situation. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is responsible for offering counter-terrorist security coverage at the IGI airport.
