All of the country’s major airports have issued travel advisories to travellers, both domestic and foreign, and asked them to arrive early at airports to allow sufficient time for check-in and security procedures due to high security measures as the Independence Day weekend approaches and an extreme rush is anticipated at the airports.

Security increased at airports due to Independence day
All of the main international airports, including those in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Chennai, have issued identical warnings and requested passengers to cooperate with security authorities.
On August 9, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport tweeted, “Due to the beginning of the spike in traffic in the next weeks, #MumbaiAirport is projected to be crowded. Please arrive early.” To ensure a smooth trip, we kindly ask all of our passengers to allow extra time to get to the airport.
On August 4th, the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru also issued a similar travel warning. It posted on Twitter that passengers should arrive early to give enough time for the check-in and security procedures owing to the increased security measures in place over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad stated the following on August 8:
The I-Day weekend rush was also mentioned by Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, which urged travellers to arrive early at airports.
The Madras International Meenambakkam Airport in Chennai urged travellers to arrive early to ensure a smooth flight.
In addition to the airport, even private aviators urged travellers to arrive early for a quick security check-in due to security concerns during the holiday weekend.
What Vistara said on August 10 is as follows:
Even while other airlines, like IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India, and Akasa, have not yet provided a travel update for the Fourth of July weekend, it is probable that they will do so shortly. The likelihood of other airports in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities providing such travel alerts is also high.
All of the main airports are on high alert for Independence Day and Republic Day every year, so it appears that this is a typical procedure. Additionally, there is a lot of traffic during these days, therefore all major airports have increased security in accordance with government regulations, and travellers are encouraged to be at the airport early.
