Trouble for Indian low-cost carrier Spicejet will increase as the pilot has called for a no-fly day, Spicejet Pilots can go on Leave.
Recently sick leave which is a new way of silent protest has been used By IndiGo and Go First Staff.
The cabin crew of Indigo reported mass sick leave over Air India Recruitment drives a few days back.
Spicejet Pilots No fly day
In a Letter, the pilot of Spicejet has requested others to go on mass sick leave to protest to raise pre covid salary.
The letter written by Spicejet Pilot reads as,
Spicejet has been Involved in various incidents for a few months and is in the Limelight of DGCA.
Recently DGCA has also done surprise checks to find faults on Live aircraft to check safety standards.
The Move comes after IndiGo and Go first pilot salaries were made equivalent to pre-covid level.
Spicejet’s Incidents
There have been at least nine air safety incidents since May 1, including instances of broken windscreens and malfunctioning machinery. The DGCA issued a show-cause notice stating why no action should be taken against it in response to the controversies.
Spicejet has been found at fault for various incidents due to poor safety standards.
“The DGCA determined that the airline was operating the flight without having 25 life jackets on board,” the statement reads in reference to the Mumbai-Srinagar trip.
Informal consumer surveys and anecdotal information from tour operators indicate that customers’ confidence may have been impacted by the attention, which might pose a bigger problem for a business that has seen its share value drop by almost 40% over the past six months.
IndiGo and Go First Mass Sick Leave
Recently, Indigo and Go First technicians went on mass sick leave amid low pay.
The technician said there is hardly any Increment in Salary from the past 3-4 Years.
The technician’s demand is simple they want a hike in their salary as it’s difficult to live a normal life in Metro Cities of India.
In a recent meeting conducted in Delhi, the Senior management of IndiGo assured Salary hikes and No Termination
Due to protests, Indigo airlines gave assurance of a hike in pay.
