The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is advancing plans to make sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) mandatory for its carriers.

Delta Air Lines (DL) is expanding its Sustainable Skies Lab through a partnership with Australian aerospace company MicroTau to test innovative drag-reducing “shark skin” riblets on its Boeing 767 fleet operating from Atlanta International Airport (ATL).
Alaska Airlines declared that it had reached a final agreement with biofuel producer Gevo Inc. under which it will buy 185 million gallons of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) over a five-year period beginning in 2026.
The carrier will power one of its 737 airplanes with SAF this Sunday. Malaysia Airlines will shortly join the list of international carriers to initiate a shift towards sustainable aircraft fuel (SAF).
