MUNICH- Starting from November 3, 2023, the Lufthansa (LH) has established a direct connection between the Indian city of Bengaluru (BLR), India, and Munich (MUC), the capital of Bavaria, Germany.
Bengaluru, in addition to Delhi and Mumbai, now becomes the third Indian city to offer a direct route for passengers via Lufthansa’s 5-star hub in Munich.

Lufthansa Munich Bengaluru Flights
With a population exceeding 12 million, Bengaluru ranks as the third-largest city in India. It is recognized for its significance in the aerospace and IT industries.
The city is also often referred to as India’s “Garden City” due to its abundance of parks. Situated in the southwest region of the subcontinent, Bengaluru boasts this unique identity.
Having a rich history in India spanning over 90 years, the Lufthansa Group currently operates more than 50 weekly flights connecting India and Europe.
The Indian aviation market holds the rank of being the third-largest globally, and India has achieved the highest GDP growth rate in the Asia-Pacific region over the past year.
This launch of the Munich-Bangalore service is a testament to Lufthansa’s strong commitment to the Indian market, with the Lufthansa Group’s capacity to India surpassing pre-COVID levels.

Executive Insights
According to Jeffrey James, Lufthansa Group Head of Communications – Asia Pacific:
“India is an exceptionally exciting place to be right now. With recent population figures surpassing China, India is also experiencing remarkable economic growth. It now holds the position as the world’s fifth-largest economy, surpassing the United Kingdom, and is projected to become the third-largest economy by 2030. We have had a significant presence in India for over 90 years. When selecting our first new destination in the Asia-Pacific region since the pandemic, Bengaluru was a natural choice.”
Lufthansa provides thrice-weekly flights, arriving conveniently at 8:05 in Munich on the same day. Passengers will enjoy their journey on one of the most modern and fuel-efficient long-haul aircraft, the Airbus A350-900.
As is customary for all services to India, passengers will be offered local cuisine and catering as they travel directly from India’s “Garden City” to Munich.
