LONDON- Wizz Air (W6) has announced a major route expansion from London Luton Airport (LTN), adding 6 new international destinations and introducing the first-ever direct flight from London to Armenia.
The expansion follows the airline securing additional operating slots at Luton and basing its 15th aircraft at the airport, reinforcing its long-term growth strategy in the UK market.

Six New Routes Launching From Summer 2026
From summer 2026, Wizz Air will operate 6 new routes from London Luton Airport, including a previously unserved Asian destination.
The airline will base an Airbus A321neo at the airport to support the expanded schedule, increasing total destinations available to UK travellers from Luton to 66.
The most notable addition is direct service to Yerevan (EVN), marking the first direct air connection between London and Armenia.
According to the Daily Mail, the route represents a significant milestone for both the airline and the airport.
Flights to Yerevan will commence on June 12, operating twice weekly, with one-way fares starting from £36.99.
Armenia’s capital welcomed approximately 2.2 million tourists in 2024, down slightly from 2.33 million in 2023, but continues to show steady recovery and long-term growth since the pandemic.
Wizz Air has positioned the route as an opportunity for travellers seeking a less crowded cultural destination while maintaining low-cost accessibility from London.

Expanded European City Destinations
Alongside Yerevan, Wizz Air will introduce five additional European routes:
- Alicante (ALC): Launching June 12, operating five times weekly, with fares from £17.99.
- Corfu (CFU): Launching June 13, operating twice weekly, with fares from £45.99. This becomes Wizz Air’s fifth Greek island destination.
- Lyon (LYS): Launching June 13, operating three times weekly, with fares from £17.99.
- Turin (TRN): Launching June 13, operating three times weekly, with fares from £17.99.
- Faro (FAO): Operating four times weekly, with fares from £17.99.
Corfu joins existing Greek destinations already served by the airline, including Chania, Rhodes, Mykonos, and Zakynthos.

Leadership Commentary and Strategic Outlook
Yvonne Moynihan, Managing Director of Wizz Air UK, described the expansion as a clear signal of the airline’s commitment to London Luton Airport and the wider UK market.
She confirmed that securing additional slots strengthens Wizz Air’s competitive position in London and enables the launch of six new routes, including the first-ever direct connection from London to Armenia.
Simon Harley, Interim Director of Aeronautical Revenue at London Luton Airport, stated that 2025 is concluding as another strong year for the airport, with summer 2026 shaping up to be a particularly busy season.
He added that the continued partnership with Wizz Air is delivering greater choice and a simplified passenger experience for millions of travellers.
Tickets for all six new routes are available for purchase from today.
