HANOI— Vietnam Airlines (VN) has announced that it will, for the first time, offer paid meals on board, and the dishes come from the popular restaurant chain Pizza 4P’s. The new service launches on December 1, 2025, and applies to selected flights departing from Hanoi (HAN) and Ho Chi Minh City (SGN).
The meals will be available on domestic routes lasting at least 60 minutes and on international flights with a duration of at least 90 minutes. The new collaboration with Pizza 4P’s marks a shift toward a more personalized, co‑branded in‑flight dining experience.

Vietnam’s New Meal Sales
Beginning December 1, passengers on eligible flights can pre-order one of two Pizza 4P’s options: Margherita or Four Cheese. The offering comes as a half‑pizza and is priced at VND 119,000 (about US$4.50).
To ensure quality and on‑time delivery, customers must place their order at least 24 hours before departure using Vietnam Airlines’ website or mobile app.
This marks the first time Vietnam Airlines sells a full meal as an ancillary service on its flights. Other domestic carriers had already been offering food, drinks, and souvenirs on board for some time.
The airline has historically provided complimentary meals on many flights, with occasional add‑ons such as milk tea introduced in 2022.

Ordering Process for Pizza 4P in VN
The ordering process requires advance booking — at least one day in advance — which allows the airline to manage catering logistics efficiently at cruising altitude.
Customers simply log into the airline’s digital portal or mobile app and select their flight and meal choice; the airline says the pizza will then be delivered on board in proper packaging to preserve freshness.
For flights that do not meet the time threshold or for passengers who did not pre-order, the airline continues to offer its existing complimentary and beverage‑only services — such as those introduced in 2022.

Vietnam’s Strategic Push
Vietnam Airlines aims with this new offering to enhance passenger experience and offer more flexible dining options. The collaboration with Pizza 4P’s reflects a broader trend toward personalized, branded services tailored especially to younger travelers, families, and international guests.
By partnering with a well‑known restaurant chain rather than a traditional airline caterer, the airline is aligning with consumer demand for premium, familiar food — even when flying. Pizza 4P’s, founded in 2011 by a Japanese couple, is known not as a fast‑food outlet but as a full‑service restaurant brand.
Over time, it has expanded to 40 locations, including 35 within Vietnam and others in Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, and India.

Bottom Line
Vietnam Airlines’ decision to begin selling Pizza 4P’s meals onboard represents a milestone in the airline’s service evolution, offering passengers a fresh and modern alternative to traditional in‑flight catering.
The move brings to the skies a trusted restaurant brand and a convenient pre-order system that promises predictable quality.
For travellers on qualifying domestic or international routes departing from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, a familiar pizza awaits — provided they order at least a day in advance.
