TORONTO- Lufthansa Airlines (LH) has launched its latest Allegris cabin product from Frankfurt, marking a new phase in the airline’s premium travel offering. The first Allegris-equipped Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner took off today on flight LH470 from Frankfurt (FRA) to Toronto (YYZ).
With this rollout, Lufthansa expands its modernized long-haul service beyond Munich, adding destinations such as Rio de Janeiro (GIG), Bogotá (BOG), Hyderabad (HYD), and Austin (AUS) to its Allegris network starting with the winter schedule.

Lufthansa 787 Allegris New Route
Lufthansa’s Allegris cabin represents the airline’s most extensive product overhaul in two decades, designed to elevate comfort and choice across all travel classes.
Introduced in May 2024 on the Airbus A350-900 from Munich (MUC), the concept has already been experienced by over half a million passengers—with satisfaction rates exceeding 90 percent.
The Allegris cabin introduces entirely new seat types and layouts in every class. Business Class offers seven seating options, including suites with higher partitions and sliding doors for enhanced privacy.
Premium Economy features fixed-shell seats, allowing passengers to recline without affecting others, while Economy has improved legroom, ergonomic cushions, and 40% larger entertainment screens.
According to Lufthansa’s Frankfurt Hub Manager, Francesco Sciortino, expanding Allegris to the carrier’s largest hub is a key milestone.
He emphasized that the product’s reception has been “enthusiastically positive” and that its introduction on additional long-haul routes underlines Lufthansa’s focus on consistent, high-end travel experiences across its global network.

New 787 Fleet Strengthens Network Reach
The Allegris experience is being deployed on Lufthansa’s growing fleet of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, known for their efficiency and quieter cabins.
The aircraft operating the inaugural Allegris service, tail sign “Papa-Fox,” has been named “Frankfurt am Main” to honor the airline’s central hub.
In the coming months, Lufthansa expects the delivery of 29 more Boeing 787s, which will gradually expand the Allegris footprint across key intercontinental destinations.
Each new aircraft will feature the updated cabin configuration, ensuring consistency in the premium onboard experience regardless of route or aircraft type.

Passenger Experience and Future Plans
Customer feedback on Allegris flights has underscored the success of Lufthansa’s investment in design and comfort.
The new cabins use lighter materials, improved air circulation, and ambient lighting systems that adapt to flight phases, enhancing rest and well-being during long journeys.
Lufthansa plans to announce additional Allegris destinations as more Dreamliners join the fleet, signaling the company’s commitment to offering modern, sustainable, and passenger-focused long-haul travel options.
