CHICAGO- United Airlines (UA) announces its Summer 2026 schedule, introducing nonstop flights from Newark/New York (EWR) to four new European cities: Split (SPU), Croatia; Bari (BRI), Italy; Glasgow (GLA), Scotland; and Santiago de Compostela (SCQ), Spain.
This expansion positions United as the top US carrier across the Atlantic, serving 46 cities next year.
The airline adds daily nonstop service from Washington-Dulles (IAD) to Reykjavik (KEF), Iceland, and from Newark (EWR) to Seoul (ICN), South Korea, while boosting flights to Tel Aviv (TLV), Israel. Tickets go on sale today via the United website and the app, pending government approval.
These routes build on United’s record 2025 international growth, offering nearly 3,000 weekly round-trips worldwide.

United Airlines (UA) launches exclusive US nonstop service to Split (SPU) from Newark (EWR) on April 30, 2026, operating three times weekly on Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
This marks the only direct link to Croatia from the US, complementing seasonal flights to Dubrovnik (DBV). Split (SPU) draws visitors with Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO site from Roman times, and the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, Europe’s oldest Catholic cathedral.

Bari (BRI) joins on May 1, 2026, with four weekly nonstops from Newark (EWR) on Boeing 767-300ER planes, opening Puglia’s hilltop villages and Adriatic turquoise waters.
Travelers explore Trulli beehive houses in Alberobello and the historic Old Town’s basilica. Bari’s port connects by ferry to Albania, Croatia, and Greece, extending adventures.
United now reaches 6 Italian cities, including unique nonstops to Palermo (PMO), with up to 15 daily flights next summer.
Glasgow (GLA) receives daily seasonal service from Newark (EWR) starting May 8, 2026, on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
As Scotland’s largest city and Conde Nast Traveler’s 2025 Friendliest UK City, Glasgow (GLA) features 90 parks, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery with Impressionist works, and UNESCO City of Music status since 2008, hosting weekly concerts. United pairs this with year-round Edinburgh (EDI) flights, dominating US-Scotland routes.
Santiago de Compostela (SCQ) starts three weekly nonstops from Newark (EWR) on May 22, 2026, via Boeing 737 MAX 8. This pilgrimage endpoint boasts Gothic cathedrals and medieval streets in Galicia’s northwest.
United expands to 6 Spanish destinations, holding sole US nonstops to Bilbao (BIO), Malaga (AGP), and Palma de Mallorca (PMI), alongside Madrid (MAD) and Barcelona (BCN).

Boosting Connectivity to Iceland, Korea, and Israel
United introduces daily flights from Washington-Dulles (IAD) to Reykjavik (KEF) on May 21, 2026, using Boeing 757-200 with lie-flat business class, the only such option between capitals.
This adds to existing Chicago-O’Hare (ORD) and Newark (EWR) routes, easing access to Blue Lagoon spas, Northern Lights, and black-sand shores. Since 2019, Dulles has gained nine transatlantic links, including recent Dakar (DSS) year-round and seasonal Venice (VCE), Nice (NCE).
Seoul (ICN) gets daily nonstops from Newark (EWR) starting September 4, 2026, on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, as the sole US carrier direct to South Korea.
It joins twice-daily San Francisco (SFO) flights, inviting tastes at Gwangjang Market, K-pop shows, and wellness spas.
Tel Aviv (TLV) sees a third weekly flight from Newark (EWR) on March 28, 2026, via Boeing 787-9, raising the total to 18 weekly. This enhances double-daily Newark service, plus Chicago-O’Hare (ORD) four-weekly and Dulles (IAD) three-weekly service starting in November.
United flies more Tel Aviv trips than any US rival, serving as the primary link from Chicago and D.C.

United resumes all 9 destinations from its largest ever 2025 push, carrying 1.5 million passengers to Italy, Spain, and Portugal by August, a 11% rise. Nuuk (GOH), Greenland, sold out fastest in history.
