First A350 Delivery
Emirates has received its first Airbus A350, registered as A6-EXA, marking the airline’s first new aircraft type introduction since 2008. The delivery initiates a significant fleet expansion with 64 additional A350s scheduled for future procurement.
The handover ceremony in Toulouse featured the aircraft’s departure to Dubai at 1600 hours local time. Emirates Engineering will complete final preparations in Dubai before the official unveiling. The delivery flight leverages a sustainable fuel mixture, combining conventional jet fuel with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Emirates has ordered 65 A350-900 aircraft, with an expected delivery of 10 units by March 2025. This investment underscores the airline’s commitment to fleet modernization, sustainability, and enhanced passenger experience.
Resumption After 4-years
Emirates has recommenced flights to Edinburgh, Scotland, after a four-year hiatus, deploying a Boeing 777 aircraft to Edinburgh Airport. The route’s inaugural landing was commemorated by a Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo ground-level musical performance, symbolizing a cultural welcome.
The Edinburgh route expands Emirates’ United Kingdom destinations to eight, offering daily direct flights between Dubai and Scotland. Complementing the existing daily Airbus A380 service to Glasgow, Emirates now provides passengers with 14 weekly flight options connecting Scotland and the UAE.
