ATLANTA- Delta Air Lines (DL) expands its European network for summer 2025, offering over 700 weekly flights to 33 destinations.
The airline introduces seven new routes, including its first nonstop service to Catania, Sicily, and increases flights to popular cities like Barcelona and Dublin.
Delta New Summer 2025 Routes
Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning, highlights the airline’s commitment to enhancing connectivity between the United States and Europe. Delta’s trans-Atlantic schedule expands from key hubs including New York-JFK, Atlanta, Boston, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Detroit.
The airline enhances its premium travel experience with the introduction of Delta One Lounges. A new lounge has opened at JFK, with additional locations planned for Los Angeles, Boston, and Seattle airports. These exclusive spaces aim to elevate the pre-flight experience for Delta One passengers.
Delta implements free international Wi-Fi across its fleet, addressing the growing demand for in-flight connectivity. This service allows passengers to stay connected throughout their journey, enhancing productivity and entertainment options.
The airline increases premium seating capacity on its A330-900 and A350-900 aircraft.
Italy Routes
Delta Air Lines expands its Italian network for summer 2025, increasing service by over 10% year-over-year. The airline introduces new routes and enhances existing services to meet the growing demand for travel to Italy.
Delta launches daily flights from New York-JFK to Catania, Sicily, starting May 2025. This service marks the first direct connection between the United States and Catania, providing unprecedented access to Sicily’s cultural heritage and natural beauty.
The airline introduces four-times-weekly service from Atlanta to Naples, complementing its existing New York-JFK to Naples route. This expansion enhances access to southern Italy’s attractions, including the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii.
Delta adds four weekly flights from Minneapolis-St. Paul to Rome, connecting its second-largest hub to the Italian capital. This addition brings the total number of Delta’s U.S. hubs with direct service to Rome to five, including Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, and New York-JFK.
Boston gains a new connection to Milan with four weekly flights starting May 2025. This route fills a significant gap in Boston’s European network and complements Delta’s existing Milan services from New York-JFK and Atlanta.
Delta Vacations expands its Italian offerings, providing accommodation options across the Amalfi Coast, Rome, Milan, and Venice. The package includes private tours of historical sites, cooking lessons, and personalized local exploration experiences.
New European Routes
Delta will launch a three-times-weekly service from Boston to Barcelona in May 2025. This route complements existing services from Atlanta and New York-JFK, enhancing access to Barcelona’s architectural wonders and coastal attractions.
Delta Vacations offers comprehensive Barcelona packages, including hotel accommodations and unique experiences such as wine tours and guided visits to the Sagrada Familia.
The airline introduces four-times-weekly flights from Detroit to Dublin, starting May 2025. This new route joins existing Dublin services from Atlanta, Boston, New York-JFK, and Minneapolis-St. Paul, strengthening Delta’s Irish network.
Delta Vacations expands its Irish offerings, featuring hotels in Dublin and along the Wild Atlantic Way, with options for rail tours to the Cliffs of Moher and excursions to Belfast.
Delta adds three-times-weekly nonstop service from Atlanta to Brussels, complementing its existing New York-JFK route.
More Flights from Atlanta and Detroit
increases flights to Athens, Barcelona, and Rome from Atlanta, solidifying its position as the leading U.S. carrier to Greece. Daily service to Zurich from Atlanta is introduced, while Detroit gains daily flights to Munich.
Better Planes and Offerings
The expansion utilizes Delta’s A330-900 and A350-900 aircraft, featuring Delta One suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin options. Delta One passengers enjoy lie-flat seats, premium bedding, and a four-course dining experience. A new partnership with Missoni introduces luxury amenity kits and enhanced Delta One touchpoints.
Delta Premium Select offers wider seats, deeper recline, and improved service. All cabins provide curated food and beverage options and access to extensive entertainment through Delta Studio.
The airline rolls out free Wi-Fi on international flights, starting with select long-haul routes for SkyMiles members. Transatlantic flights are being equipped progressively, with full global fleet coverage expected by the end of 2026.
Delta enhances its premium ground experience with new Delta One Lounges. Following the JFK lounge launch, additional lounges are planned for Los Angeles, Boston, and Seattle airports, offering exclusive pre-flight amenities for eligible passengers.
