NEW YORK- American Airlines (AA) changed its route offerings at New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA) during the schedule update on the weekend of September 24, 2023.
Additionally, the oneWorld member has submitted modifications to its New York area operations for November and December 2023.
American Cuts New York Routes
The following domestic routes will not be available during the upcoming Northern winter season of 2023/24:
- New York LaGuardia to Houston: Unavailable from November 4, 2023, to March 30, 2024.
- New York LaGuardia to Kansas City: Unavailable from November 4, 2023, to March 30, 2024.
These changes include planned flight frequency reductions compared to the schedule from August 6, 2023, to September 24, 2023.

During the week of December 3-9, 2023, the following flight frequency reductions are planned for various routes:
Newark Airport:
- Newark to Charlotte: Reducing from 47 to 37 weekly flights.
- Newark to Chicago O’Hare: Reducing from 40 to 30 weekly flights.
- Newark to Dallas/Ft. Worth: Reducing from 35 to 28 weekly flights.
- Newark to Miami: Reducing from 28 to 27 weekly flights.
New York JFK Airport:
- JFK to Austin: Reducing from 21 to 20 weekly flights.
- JFK to Boston: Reducing from 30 to 20 weekly flights.
- JFK to Charlotte: Reducing from 50 to 34 weekly flights.
- JFK to Columbus, OH: Reducing from 26 to 14 weekly flights.
- JFK to Miami: Reducing from 68 to 62 weekly flights.
- JFK to Norfolk: Reducing from 21 to 7 weekly flights.
- JFK to Pittsburgh: Reducing from 19 to 14 weekly flights.
- JFK to Raleigh/Durham: Reducing from 35 to 29 weekly flights.
- JFK to San Francisco: Reducing from 28 to 27 weekly flights.
