DUBAI, UAE- Emirates (EK) has introduced onboard meal preordering to enhance customer experience and reduce food wastage.
Starting July 25th, Business Class passengers flying between Dubai (DXB) and London Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW), and Stansted (STN) can preselect their hot main meal up to 14 days before departure, ensuring their preferred choice every time.

Emirates Onboard Meal Preordering Service
With meal preordering, passengers gain control over their inflight dining by selecting regionally inspired dishes with locally sourced ingredients.
This initiative elevates the Emirates dining experience to a ‘restaurant in the sky’ level and complements the existing suite of AI-enabled customer preference tracking data and cabin crew reports, ensuring optimal food loading for every flight.
Passengers can conveniently browse the onboard menu on Emirates.com or the Emirates app, making their selections up to two weeks before take-off. Special meal requests can also be accommodated during the preordering process.
Once onboard, the cabin crew utilizes a custom-built application on a device to view the preselected meal choices, serving each passenger their desired hot dish.
The initial rollout on the Dubai-London routes is just the beginning. Based on valuable customer feedback, Emirates plans to extend the meal preorder service to more routes and travel classes.

Enhanced Digital Journey
Meal preordering adds to the growing list of digitally enabled conveniences that Emirates passengers can enjoy. Alongside website and app check-in options, passengers can access digital boarding passes and itinerary management.
Additionally, passengers can join Emirates Skywards to enjoy complimentary connectivity based on their tier membership and travel class.
Prior to boarding, they can curate a personalized playlist of favourite movies, TV shows, and music available on the in-flight entertainment system, known as “ice,” syncing it from their app to the TV screen the moment they step onboard.
Emirates values customer feedback immensely. Passengers are invited to review all aspects of their flight through a quick digital survey displayed on the inflight entertainment screen.
This feedback helps Emirates gather valuable insights, ensuring constant improvement and delivering a superior flying experience.
With meal preordering, Emirates once again demonstrates its commitment to customer satisfaction, sustainability, and continuous innovation.
As this initiative takes flight, passengers can relish their journey knowing they have a personalized and delectable dining experience awaiting them onboard.
