ANA previously announced that the first commercial service of the newly introduced Pikachu Jet would take place on flight NH847 from Tokyo-Haneda (HND) to Bangkok-Suvarnabhumi (BKK).
Subsequently, this marked an exciting milestone in ANA’s efforts to deliver remarkable journeys to its passengers.
The Pikachu Jet offers passengers a personalized interior and an in-flight experience inspired by the beloved Japanese series. The aircraft’s interior features customizations such as headrests. While cabin crew uniforms are adorned with charming drawings and images of Pokémon.
Passengers who had the opportunity to book a flight on the Pikachu Jet were delighted to receive uniquely designed boarding passes. Further, the baggage tags add an extra touch of excitement to their journey.
Special Liveries
This is not the first instance of NH showcasing Pokémon-themed liveries. The Pokémon Jets series commenced in July 1998. Shortly after, the animated series gained worldwide popularity. The first Pokémon liveries unveiled on a Boeing 747-400D (JA8965) and a 767-300 (JA8569).
Since then, a total of 11 aircraft have been adorned with Pokémon liveries. Further contributing to NH’s reputation as the primary airline of Japan. NH has gained recognition for its Eastern-Asian culture, cuisine, and anime industry and its association with the world of animated films.
While a few other airlines like Skymark (BC), Air Do (HD), China Airlines (CI), and Scoot (TR) have also embraced the trend to a lesser extent. Consequently, NH remains the leading carrier in featuring these special liveries globally.
