MUMBAI- The TATA SIA Joint Ventured Vistara (UK) operated the first flight for its fourth Boeing 787. The Dreamliner has the registration VT-TSP, the fourth aircraft of the Vistara.
The airline deployed VT-TSP on Delhi (DEL) to the Bengaluru Airport (BLR) route. Earlier, the Tata-owned carrier operated its first Airbus A321LR on the same route when it entered the service.
Vistara Fourth Boeing 787 Flight
According to Flight Radar 24, the Vistara-operated flight UK819. The VT-TSP takeoff from DEL at 2:10 PM landed at BLR at 4:51 PM after 2 hours and 40 mins. Likewise, the aircraft also made a return flight to DEL.
With this flight, Vistara VT-TSP became the first widebody aircraft to operate at T2 Terminal. Furthermore, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the BLR Airport T2 terminal in December 2022.
The Indian carrier took the delivery of VT-TSP on the 30th of last month this year. Furthermore, Vistara collaborated with Boeing and GE Aerospace to operate India’s first SAF flight using SAF on their recently acquired Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
The airline operated a pioneering ferry flight from Charleston International Airport, South Carolina, to Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, using their 4th GEnx-powered Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
First Vistara Dreamliner
Vistara’s first Dreamliner aircraft, which Boeing delivered in February 2020, operated its maiden commercial flight from DEL to Kolkata on May 28, 2020. Subsequently, the Twin aisle aircraft comprises business, premium, and economy class cabins with 30, 21, and 248 seats, respectively.
The airline has a fleet of 58 aircraft, including 45 Airbus A320s, 8 A321s, Solo Boeing 737, and 4 Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The airline operates this heavy fleet on 32 domestic and 15 international destinations in 14 countries as of April 2023.
