LATAM Brasil now services 20 of the 26 international destinations it served before the pandemic.

LATAM Brasil declared the return of its São Paulo Guarulhos (GRU) – Boston (BOS) route from October 30. The route had been suspended since January of last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Beginning in October, the airline will fly to Boston and back to São Paulo three times weekly.

A year-and-a-half after suspending flights to Boston, LATAM Brasil declared that beginning in October, the route will resume. With the return of the Boston route, LATAM Brasil will service all four American destinations that it served before the COVID-19 pandemic. From Guarulhos, the airline also flies to (MIA), New York (JFK), and Orlando (MCO). Aline Mafra, Director of Sales and Marketing, LATAM Brasil, told,

“In July, we brought back our eight destinations in Europe and are now close to restarting service to our four destinations in the United States. As we predicted from the start of the pandemic, the return of the international routes would arrive at a different rate from the domestic market. The most important thing is that this is occurring sustainably, as people restart their plans for longer distanced international travel.”

The Guarulhos – Boston flight will operate 3 times weekly, on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday onboard the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The aircraft seats 300 passengers in a three-cabin configuration, 30 Premium Business seats, 57 Economy+ seats, and 213 economy seats.

The flight will last nine hours and 45 minutes and will take off from GRU at 22:50 local time. On Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, LATAM will operate the return flight to GRU which will depart from Boston at 17:30 local time. Tickets are already on sale on LATAM’s website.

LATAM Brasil resuming its normal services to the United States

Not only is LATAM Brasil restarting its normal services to the United States, but the airline will be increasing its international operations in South America. In November, LATAM plans to inaugurate service from Curitiba to Santiago and from Rio de Janeiro/Galeão to Buenos Aires/Ezeiza.

Currently, LATAM services Lima and Santiago from Rio de Janeiro. In December, LATAM Brasil plans to increase frequencies on many of its existing routes. Buenos Aires/Ezeiza – São Paulo/Guarulhos will have twenty weekly flights, Rio de Janeiro/Galeão will see 12 weekly operations, São Paulo/Guarulhos – Lima 18x weekly, São Paulo/Guarulhos – Miami 14x weekly, and São Paulo/Guarulhos – Montevideo 12x weekly.

From the first to the second trimester of the year, LATAM Brasil saw a 60% boost in international ticket sales in Brazil which shows that the demand for international travel has increased significantly in recent months.

          • In total, LATAM Brasil has restarted service to 20 of the 26 international destinations it served from Brasil before the COVID-19 pandemic.

LATAM Brasil also offers flights to the U.S. from Fortaleza, which has direct service to Miami on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, and flights to Lima from Porto Alegre.
