Following the lifting of the Indian government’s restriction on international scheduled flights, Qatar Airways and IndiGo have announced the reactivation of their strategic partnership.
Qatar would operate 190 flights each week to and from 12 Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Kozhikode, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Goa, Kolkata, and Thiruvananthapuram, under the terms of the agreement.
IndiGo, on the other hand, will fly between Doha and Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Kozhikode, and Kannur 154 times every week.
Starting on April 25, Qatar Airways will post its marketing code on IndiGo operated flights between Doha and Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, and on IndiGo operated flights between Doha and Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi, and Kozhikode, beginning on May 9.
"The revival of our strategic cooperation with IndiGo is another milestone in the development of aviation between the State of Qatar and India," said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker. Qatar Airways and IndiGo would offer over 340 flights per week to 13 Indian locations when they join forces. Our connection with IndiGo has never been stronger, and the continuation of our strategic cooperation reflects both partners' resilience, adaptability, and determination in addressing the pandemic's hurdles."
“We hope that the relaxation of restrictions will foster economic growth through IndiGo’s seamless nationwide connectivity,” said Ronojoy Dutta, Wholetime Director and Chief Executive Officer of IndiGo.
All code-share flights operated by IndiGo will earn Avios for members of Qatar Airways’ ‘Privilege Club’ loyalty programme. All code-share flights will be subject to the airline’s baggage policies.
