Passengers on a jet travelling above Brazil clutched helplessly at the plane door that had burst open mid-flight, according to frightening footage released online.
This is an episode you’ve most likely read about in novels or seen depicted in films. Except it actually happened to an unlucky group of fliers.

According to reports, the handrail on the flight from Jordao collided with the engine’s propellers after the door opened. Two passengers were seen anxiously clutching the small plane’s door in shocking videos and photos released online.
According to sources, the incident occurred on April 14th.
According to reports, passengers were required to hold the door open until the plane landed. Surprisingly, there were no injuries on board.
After flying from Jordao in Acre, the door reportedly flung open as the plane approached Rio Branco.
When one of the door’s support wires snapped mid-flight, the occupants were forced to take immediate action.
The plane is thought to be a Brazilian twin-turboprop light aircraft, the Embraer 110 Bandeirante.
It’s not a typical commercial airliner, with a capacity of 15 to 21 passengers.

The door had to be held shut for more than 20 minutes, according to the individuals on board. After the handrail collided with the propeller, the pilot had to turn off the left engine.
Following the tragedy, local media outlets said that the jet was flown by Rio Branco Aerotaxi.
The incident was reported to CENIPA, the country’s Centre for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents, according to a Rio Branco Aerotaxi representative.
