Air India announced on Wednesday that 15% of its 1,825 pilots are female, making it the airline with the most female pilots.

The Akasa Group, India’s youngest airline, is on a goal to expand female employee participation from 37% to 50%. With the government aiming for 200 airports and at least 1,200 commercial aircraft, the number of female pilots is only going to increase.
The airline flew a special flight in honor of the 100th anniversary of the first Black woman to get a pilot’s license.
