JEWAR- Uttar Pradesh is planning a dedicated ‘Singapore City’ near Noida International Airport (DXN), as the state looks to attract foreign investment in advanced manufacturing, logistics and technology. The proposed development in Sector 7 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region is expected to strengthen the industrial ecosystem around the airport.
The plan gained momentum after discussions with a 14-member delegation of Singaporean industrialists and investors led by Singapore Business Federation chairman Mark Lee. The discussions covered potential cooperation in sectors ranging from semiconductor manufacturing and data centres to renewable energy, hospitality and urban planning.

Singapore Investment Plans
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had proposed the dedicated city following his visit to Singapore in February 2026.
The state government is now seeking to build on those discussions by encouraging Singapore-based companies to establish operations in Uttar Pradesh.
The proposed development is intended to bring together industrial and urban infrastructure while giving international investors a dedicated location to explore business opportunities.
YEIDA has identified Sector 7 near Jewar for the project, although the state has not announced a final development schedule or named a developer.
The authority had earlier proposed around 500 acres in Sector 7 for Singapore City as part of a plan submitted to the state government in February. Under YEIDA’s master plan, the sector is designated as a multipurpose industrial zone, with at least 70% of the land reserved for industrial use.

Airport-Led Growth
The location is significant because Noida International Airport has begun commercial operations, creating another aviation gateway for the National Capital Region and western Uttar Pradesh.
The airport is designed to support passenger and cargo connectivity, which could make the surrounding YEIDA region more attractive to companies that depend on air transport and efficient supply chains.
The airport’s initial development includes one runway and a passenger terminal with an annual capacity of 12 million passengers.
Its master plan provides for expansion to handle more than 70 million passengers annually over the concession period, giving the wider region scope to accommodate future growth in air travel and related businesses.
The state is also highlighting its existing transport network. Expressways and links to the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors could support the movement of goods between industrial facilities, warehouses and the airport.

Technology And Manufacturing
The Singapore delegation expressed interest in multimodal logistics, warehousing, semiconductor fabrication, electronics, data centres, cloud services and artificial intelligence.
Clean technology opportunities include solar energy, green hydrogen, waste management and water recycling, while urban planning and hospitality were also discussed.
Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh accounts for approximately 55% of India’s mobile phone production and 60% of its electronic component manufacturing. The state is using these figures to demonstrate its manufacturing base and its potential to attract further technology investment.
The delegation also visited industrial areas in Noida and Greater Noida, where it reviewed projects including Film City, Toy Park, Apparel Park, Medical Devices Park and the proposed semiconductor cluster, Hindustan Times flagged.
However, the Singapore City proposal remains a planned development, and further details on investment commitments, land acquisition, and implementation will determine how quickly it moves forward.
