ATLANTA- Delta Air Lines (DL) is expanding its network during the upcoming professional football season by adding flights and increasing seat capacity on routes linked to major matchups. The airline aims to provide fans with more travel options between September and January.
Key markets include Buffalo (BUF), Miami (MIA), Green Bay (GRB), Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP), New Orleans (MSY), Las Vegas (LAS), Boston (BOS), Atlanta (ATL), Detroit (DTW), and Mexico City (MEX). Delta Air Lines (DL) will also operate additional transatlantic services to support travel for international football games in Europe.

Delta Expands Network for High-Demand Football Travel
Delta Air Lines is introducing new flights and aircraft upgrades across its network to accommodate increased demand during football season.
The schedule enhancements are designed around high-profile games, with flights operating before and after major matchups to help fans maximize their travel time.
According to Amy Martin, Vice President of Network Planning at Delta, the airline is strengthening its network to make travel easier for customers attending some of the season’s biggest games.
The expanded schedule will run from September through January and includes both new routes and increased capacity on existing services.

New Flights Added on Key Football Routes
Delta will launch additional flights on several routes connected to major football destinations.
New services include:
- Buffalo (BUF) to Miami (MIA)
- Atlanta (ATL) to Green Bay (GRB)
- Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP) to Tampa (TPA)
- Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP) to New Orleans (MSY)
- Cincinnati (CVG) to Miami (MIA)
- Buffalo (BUF) to Las Vegas (LAS)
- Boston (BOS) to Buffalo (BUF)
- Boston (BOS) to Green Bay (GRB)
- Milwaukee (MKE) to New Orleans (MSY)
- Buffalo (BUF) to Green Bay (GRB)
- Mexico City (MEX) to Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP)
The airline will also repeat service on selected high-demand weekends, particularly on routes such as Boston to Buffalo, Atlanta to Green Bay, and Detroit to Green Bay.

Aircraft Upgrades Increase Available Seats
In addition to new flights, Delta is upgrading aircraft on several existing routes to increase seat availability during peak travel periods.
Routes receiving aircraft upgrades include:
- Atlanta (ATL) to Pittsburgh (PIT)
- Boston (BOS) to Jacksonville (JAX)
- Charlotte (CLT) to Detroit (DTW)
- Detroit (DTW) to Green Bay (GRB)
- Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP) to Green Bay (GRB)
- Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) to Detroit (DTW)
- Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) to Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP)
These upgrades will provide additional capacity for fans traveling to high-demand games throughout the season.

Additional Europe Flights for International Games
Delta is also extending its football-related travel support beyond North America.
The airline will operate four additional round-trip flights between the United States and Europe to serve customers traveling to Madrid, Spain, and Munich, Germany, where two major international professional football games are scheduled in November.
The extra flights are expected to support growing demand for overseas football travel while providing more flexibility for customers attending international events.
Onboard Entertainment for Traveling Fans
Customers flying during football season will have access to Live TV across Delta’s fleet through the Delta Sync seatback entertainment platform.
The feature allows passengers to follow sports coverage while traveling, enhancing the game-day experience both on the ground and in the air.

Strategic Schedule Designed Around Game Weekends
Most of the additional flights are scheduled to depart one or two days before kickoff and return shortly after the game. This timing is intended to support long-weekend travel plans and reduce scheduling challenges for fans attending away games.
The expanded schedule provides more travel choices to destinations such as Green Bay, Buffalo, Miami, New Orleans, Las Vegas, Tampa, and Mexico City, while also increasing seat availability on several high-demand routes.
As football travel demand rises throughout the season, Delta’s network adjustments position the airline to capture increased passenger traffic while offering greater flexibility for sports fans.
