HYDERABAD- Security agencies at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport responded to a bomb threat involving Emirates (EK) flight EK526 arriving from Dubai (DXB). The alert triggered full safety protocols before and after landing.
The aircraft landed safely at Hyderabad International Airport (HYD), after which passengers were deboarded and the plane isolated as authorities began a detailed investigation.

Emirates Flight Bomb Threat
The bomb threat email was received by the Hyderabad airport customer support team at around 7.30 am on December 5, 2025, according to officials from GMR, the airport operator.
The message specifically referenced Emirates (EK) flight EK526 operating between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Hyderabad International Airport (HYD).
Despite the threat, the flight continued under enhanced surveillance and touched down at approximately 8.30 am. Immediately after landing, security agencies followed standard operating procedures.
The aircraft was guided to an isolated bay, and all passengers were safely deboarded. No injuries or disruptions were reported during the process.
The EK526 was operated by a 14-year-old Boeing 777-300ER, registered as A6-EGL.

Emirates Confirms Cooperation With Authorities
Emirates confirmed with Gulf News that Indian authorities informed the airline of a potential security issue before the flight’s arrival.
In an official statement, the airline said standard security checks were carried out with the support of its ground teams in Hyderabad.
The airline reiterated that passenger and crew safety remains its top priority. Operations at the airport continued under close monitoring as investigations progressed.

Emirates Ground Incident at Manchester
Emirates confirmed that one of its Airbus A380 aircraft was grounded at Manchester Airport, United Kingdom, following a ground vehicle collision at the gate.
The incident occurred at Manchester Airport, Manchester (MAN), impacting Emirates Flight EK18 scheduled to operate to Dubai International Airport, Dubai (DXB), resulting in a cancellation and multi-day delay.
The Airbus A380 had completed a seven-hour inbound service from Dubai and arrived at Manchester at 10:46 am local time. While parked at the gate and preparing for departure, a fuel truck struck the aircraft, damaging one of its engine cowling covers.
Due to the contact, Emirates cancelled the scheduled return flight EK18 to Dubai. The aircraft remained grounded for over 48 hours to allow engineers to carry out detailed maintenance inspections and safety checks.
Emirates rebooked all affected passengers onto the next available flights following the incident. Ground teams and maintenance crews assessed the damage to ensure full compliance with operational and safety standards.
After completing inspections and repairs, the aircraft was cleared for service and departed from Manchester to Dubai on Sunday evening (November 30, 2025).
An Emirates spokesperson stated that flight EK018, scheduled for departure on 28 November 2025, was cancelled after a ground vehicle came into contact with the aircraft at Manchester Airport.
The airline confirmed the aircraft returned to service on 30 November 2025 after thorough maintenance assessments, reiterating that passenger and crew safety remains its highest priority.

Recent Similar Threats
This incident adds to a recent series of bomb-related threats linked to flights heading to Hyderabad. A day earlier, an IndiGo (6E) flight 6E58 from Medina was diverted to Ahmedabad after receiving a similar alert while carrying 180 passengers and six crew members.
Earlier in the same week, another IndiGo (6E) flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad made an emergency landing in Mumbai following a threat.
Separate from in-flight incidents, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport received multiple hoax emails in November, including a false claim of an RDX device near the arrival area and another alert that led to a flight diversion.
Authorities have confirmed that some earlier threats were hoaxes, while investigations into the latest incident remain ongoing.
