SINGAPORE- World’s best carrier Singapore Airlines (SQ) plans to introduce its next-generation long-haul cabin products in 2026 as part of a S$1.1 billion retrofit program for 41 Airbus A350 900 aircraft. The update comes after delays to the Boeing 777-9 pushed the airline to move the new seats to the A350 fleet.
The carrier also confirmed that an all-new travel experience will debut with the refreshed cabins across routes such as Sydney (SYD) and London Heathrow (LHR), including upgraded soft products and the arrival of Low Earth Orbit satellite internet.

Singapore Airlines New Experience in 2026
Singapore Airlines will adopt LEO satellite connectivity to improve inflight WiFi speeds far beyond what its current GEO based system can deliver.
While the airline did not name a provider, Starlink remains the most likely option given its growing adoption across global airlines, including Air France (AF), British Airways (BA), Qatar Airways (QR), United Airlines (UA), and Hawaiian Airlines (HA).
LEO satellites operate as low as 550 km above Earth, compared to more than 35,000 km for GEO satellites. This shorter distance reduces latency from around 600 ms to between 20 and 40 ms, allowing passengers to browse, stream, game, or join video calls with speeds similar to home broadband.
LEO connectivity will also remain active during taxi, takeoff, and landing, ensuring always on Wi Fi availability.
Installation can be completed in less than two weeks, which means the rollout could begin quickly across the fleet.

New Business Class and First Class Products
Singapore Airlines will unveil its new Business Class seat on the Airbus A350-900 long haul fleet from the second quarter of 2026.
Teasers show enclosed suites with doors and a forward facing, staggered layout that lets passengers sleep parallel to the aisle. Expected features include 4K screens, USB-C ports, wireless charging, and Bluetooth audio.
The next generation First Class will follow on the A350-900ULR from early 2027. A leaked patent suggests a six-seat cabin layout with fully enclosed suites featuring a separate bed and seat. A double suite will allow couples to convert the space into a true double bed with no divider.

KrisWorld Entertainment System Redesign
The airline will launch a fully refreshed KrisWorld entertainment system in 2026. Passengers can expect a modernised user interface, personalised content options, and upgraded screens in premium cabins, MileLion flagged.
The update aims to offer richer, higher quality content that aligns with the new 4K hardware.

Food and Beverage Enhancements
Caviar may make its way into Business Class after the airline issued a tender for farmed caviar supplies. While portions will likely be smaller than First Class, it signals a push to elevate the premium cabin’s culinary appeal.
The snack menu is also expected to improve, addressing long standing feedback about limited mid-flight options.
The goal is to create a wider selection that reflects Singapore’s culinary identity, rather than relying on processed snacks and instant noodles.

New Amenity Kits and Soft Furnishings
New amenity kits are in development for premium cabins. Current providers include Lalique in Suites and First Class, Le Labo in Business Class, and Out of the Woods for Premium Economy.
Given that the Lalique kits have been in use since 2017, Suites and First Class are the most likely to receive the next update.
Singapore Airlines will also revamp bedding and serviceware. Many airlines now partner with luxury brands for bedding, and passengers can expect improved comfort and presentation when the updated soft furnishings roll out.

Bottom Line
Singapore Airlines plans a major upgrade cycle from 2026, highlighted by LEO satellite connectivity and new long-haul cabin products.
Passengers can expect faster Wi Fi, redesigned Business and First Class seats, updated soft products, and a refreshed KrisWorld system.
