ADELAIDE— Qantas Airways (QF) has officially reintroduced direct international services from Adelaide Airport (ADL), launching a new seasonal route to Auckland Airport (AKL) from 31 October 2025.
The new route will operate four times per week—on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays—using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with a flight time of approximately four hours and fifteen minutes. The seasonal service will run from 31 October 2025 through to 3 May 2026.

Qantas New Adelaide to Auckland Flight
Designated as flight QF175, the new service will deliver more than 30,000 additional seats between Adelaide and Auckland during the season. Return economy fares start from AUD 699, inclusive of taxes, for selected travel dates.
The reinstatement of this direct international link not only strengthens the Qantas network but also reaffirms Adelaide’s growing importance as a key gateway in southern Australia.
The schedule has been strategically designed to accommodate both leisure travelers and those visiting family and friends, while also supporting business and cargo opportunities across the Tasman.
The service complements Qantas’s existing domestic operations from Adelaide, which currently connect to over a dozen destinations nationwide.
The return marks a major milestone for South Australia, as the airline resumes international operations from Adelaide for the first time in several years. This development strengthens regional connectivity and enhances travel options across the Tasman.

Strategic Significance for South Australia
The return of Qantas’s international operations represents a strong vote of confidence in South Australia’s aviation and tourism sectors.
Local government and airport authorities have welcomed the decision, citing its potential to boost inbound tourism and trade.
New Zealand remains one of South Australia’s most valuable visitor markets, and direct services are expected to further stimulate economic growth. Adelaide Airport continues to expand its route network, hosting nearly 280 weekly domestic services.
The addition of the Adelaide–Auckland connection significantly enhances the state’s connectivity, helping position Adelaide as a central hub for both domestic and international travelers.

Customer Experience on Qantas’ New Route
Coinciding with the route launch, Qantas has opened its first Domestic Business Lounge at Adelaide Airport. Spanning 1,016 square meters and accommodating up to 190 guests, the new lounge offers an elevated pre-flight experience.
The design draws inspiration from South Australia’s culture and natural beauty, featuring local materials, a live-cooking “Market Kitchen” concept, and produce sourced from regional suppliers.
This addition reflects Qantas’s commitment to premium customer service and to investing in South Australia’s growing travel market.
By pairing a new international service with upgraded facilities, the airline is positioning itself as the preferred carrier for both leisure and corporate travelers departing from Adelaide.
