BENGALURU- India’s Largest LCC, IndiGo Airlines (6E), will launch direct flights between Bengaluru (BLR) and Riyadh (RUH) starting 16 November 2025. Operated by the Airbus A320, this new route strengthens air connectivity between India’s technology hub and Saudi Arabia’s capital.
Riyadh becomes the second Saudi city, after Jeddah (JED), to have direct access from Bengaluru. The expansion reflects growing passenger demand for travel between India and the Middle East, driven by business, trade, and tourism.

IndiGo Launching Bengaluru to Riyadh Flights
The new Bengaluru–Riyadh route adds to IndiGo’s expanding Middle East network, which already connects India with Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam (DMM), and Madinah (MED). This development highlights the airline’s strategy to deepen its footprint in key Gulf markets with high workforce mobility and trade flows.
According to IndiGo, Riyadh’s role as a financial and commercial hub makes it a crucial addition to its network. The flight offers improved access for Indian professionals and businesses, while supporting Saudi Arabia’s growing demand for inbound travel and workforce exchanges.
The route marks IndiGo’s fourth non-stop connection to Riyadh after Delhi (DEL), Mumbai (BOM), and Hyderabad (HYD).
The direct service between Bengaluru and Riyadh begins on 16 November 2025, with the following schedule:

Travel Guide to Riyadh
Saudi Arabia’s fast-evolving capital, Riyadh (RUH), is where ancient heritage meets a bold vision for the future. Fueled by the country’s Vision 2030 reforms, the city is rapidly becoming a major travel and business hub in the Middle East.
Under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Riyadh is attracting global travellers with its mix of heritage sites, futuristic architecture, world-class restaurants, and luxury hotels.
Here’s a detailed look at how to experience the city at its best — from arrival and dress code to dining, culture, and accommodation.
Exploring the New Face of Riyadh
Riyadh’s transformation is central to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, a national initiative reshaping the kingdom’s economy and tourism landscape. Once known mainly for business travel, the city now welcomes international tourists with streamlined eVisa systems and expanding infrastructure.
Visitors arriving at King Khalid International Airport (RUH) will find a well-connected gateway offering fast Wi-Fi, 5G coverage, and services like Al Tanfeethi’s premium terminal membership for expedited arrivals.
Ride-hailing apps such as Uber, Bolt, and local favourite Careem make airport transfers and city travel convenient, while Riyadh’s metro system—nearing completion—promises faster links to business districts like King Abdullah Financial District and Olaya.

Entry and Visa Information
Saudi Arabia eased visa regulations in 2018, allowing smoother access for both business and leisure travellers.
Business visitors can apply online with a company invitation letter, while tourists can use the Saudi eVisa portal for quick approvals without needing sponsorship. Eligible nationalities may also apply for visas on arrival, reducing waiting times and paperwork.
Currency in Saudi Arabia is the Saudi Riyal (SAR). Major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are widely accepted. Visitors can purchase local SIM cards from STC, Mobily, or Zain either at the airport or within the city.
Cultural Etiquette and Dress Code
While Riyadh has relaxed its dress regulations, modest attire remains essential. Women are no longer required to wear an abaya, but clothing should still cover shoulders, arms, and knees. Loose, breathable fabrics like maxi dresses or long trousers are practical choices in the desert heat.
During Ramadan, eating or drinking in public during daylight hours is prohibited. Workdays run from Sunday to Thursday, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s business week.
Top Attractions and Experiences
Riyadh blends history and innovation at every turn. Start with Al Masmak Palace, a 19th-century fortress that played a pivotal role in the kingdom’s unification.
Nearby, Deerah Souq offers a lively introduction to traditional Saudi commerce, from spices to handcrafted goods.
Modern Riyadh shines through landmarks like Kingdom Centre, whose Sky Bridge offers sweeping views of the city, and Al Faisaliah Centre, known for its upscale shopping and dining. For nature enthusiasts, a trip to the Edge of the World—a dramatic cliff formation an hour outside the city—offers unforgettable desert vistas.
Where to Eat in Riyadh
Riyadh’s culinary scene rivals that of global capitals. Via Riyadh Mall hosts world-famous restaurants like Gymkhana, offering elevated Indian flavours, and Wagyumafia, specialising in premium Japanese wagyu.
In King Abdullah Financial District, upscale dining continues with Il Baretto’s Italian classics, AOK Kitchen’s wholesome brunches, and Black Tap’s indulgent burgers.
For a more atmospheric experience, Bujairi Terrace in Diriyah (UNESCO World Heritage Site) delivers both setting and substance. Standouts include Flamingo Room, known for contemporary African cuisine, and Villa Mamas, serving dishes rooted in local ingredients and tradition.

Where to Stay in Riyadh
The city’s hospitality landscape has expanded dramatically. The Four Seasons Riyadh, Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah, and The Ritz-Carlton Riyadh remain the go-to choices for luxury stays, while new openings like St. Regis Riyadh at Via Riyadh Mall, JW Marriott Riyadh, and Mansard Riyadh bring fresh options to the market.
Each offers distinctive style—from modern high-rise luxury to European-inspired elegance—reflecting Riyadh’s growing sophistication.
