DUBAI- Flag carrier of UAE, Emirates Airlines (EK) will resume Airbus A380 flights to Copenhagen starting January 1, 2025, marking the return of the iconic double-decker aircraft to the Danish capital.
As the world’s largest international A380 operator, Emirates remains the sole carrier operating the A380 on this route.
Emirates A380 Returns to Copenhagen
The A380 service will significantly increase seating capacity, offering passengers greater flexibility and more travel options. The daily flight will feature 58 lie-flat seats in Business Class and 557 seats in Economy Class.
- Flight EK 152 will depart Copenhagen Airport at 14:45, arriving in Dubai at 00:10 local time.
- The return flight, EK 151, will leave Dubai at 08:30, landing in Copenhagen at 12:30 local time.
Morten Balk, Emirates’ Country Manager for Denmark, expressed enthusiasm for the A380’s return, highlighting the 43 percent increase in seating capacity. This expansion will enhance connectivity to destinations such as Australia, Bali, Mauritius, and South Africa via Dubai.

Emirates introduced A380 flights to Copenhagen in 2015 and currently operates a fleet of 116 A380 aircraft, making it the largest operator of this model.

Emirates’ reintroduction of A380 service to Copenhagen offers passengers a unique travel experience. The airline’s multinational cabin crew, representing over 170 nationalities, delivers personalized service and region-inspired gourmet cuisine.
The award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice, provides 6,500 channels of content, including Danish programming. This extensive selection caters to diverse passenger preferences during long-haul flights.
Emirates’ global network connects Danish travelers to over 140 destinations across Asia, the Indian Ocean, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia. This extensive connectivity positions Copenhagen as a key hub in Emirates’ European network.
The Emirates A380 fleet, now comprising 116 aircraft, showcases the airline’s commitment to large-capacity, long-haul travel. Each A380 accommodates 615 passengers in Economy and Business Class configurations.
The aircraft requires 24 cabin crew and two cabin assistants per flight, with over 23,000 crew members and 1,500 pilots specially trained for A380 operations. The iconic Onboard Lounge features bartenders capable of mixing 14 different cocktails, with Emirates boasting over 6,000 trained bartenders across its network.
Technically, the A380 weighs between 510 and 575 tonnes, measures 72.7 meters in length, stands 24.1 meters tall, and has a wingspan of 79.8 meters.
