ABU DHABI- Etihad Airways (EY), the flagship carrier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has released its initial traffic figures for February 2024. During this period, the airline accommodated over 1.4 million passengers and maintained an average load factor of 89 percent.
In February 2024, we observed a remarkable 46 percent year-on-year increase in customer numbers as part of our ongoing growth strategy,” stated Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways.
Etihad Airways Expansion and New Route Plans
Neves further added,
“Our year-to-date (YTD) passenger count, totaling 2.9 million, reflects a 40 percent surge compared to the same period in February 2023.
“February was a bustling month for us; we bolstered our fleet by introducing three new 787-9 aircraft. This move aligns with our network expansion strategy, aimed at adding new destinations and increasing frequencies in key markets.
“We also unveiled plans for two additional routes set to commence this year: one to Antalya, Turkey, and the other to Jaipur, India. The latter marks our eleventh non-stop connection between Abu Dhabi and the Indian Subcontinent.”
