ABU DHABI- In an effort to broaden its network and improve connectivity in the Middle East, Etihad Airways (EY), the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has announced on April 5, 2024, the addition of Al Qassim (ELQ), Saudi Arabia, to its expanding roster of destinations, bringing its total number of Saudi gateways to four.
The airline aims to extend its reach by inaugurating flights to one of Saudia Arabia’s most captivating regions.
Etihad Al Qassim Flights
Commencing on June 24, 2024, Etihad will establish direct links between Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport and Al Qassim’s Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz International Airport (ELQ) with four weekly flights.

More New Flights
Commencing on June 15, Etihad is ramping up its service frequency to several pivotal destinations while also inaugurating flights to Antalya and Jaipur, as previously announced in February.
Weekly flights to Thiruvananthapuram and Amman will increase threefold, totaling 10 and 14, respectively. Additional services entail an augmentation of three flights to Cairo, totaling 24, Karachi rising to 17, and Colombo increasing to 20 weekly flights.
This recent expansion contributes to an impressive 33% surge in Etihad’s total weekly flights, escalating from 642 last summer to 855 in 2024. It also extends Etihad’s global reach from 65 to 76 destinations, substantially bolstering worldwide connectivity.
The updated schedule and introduction of new routes have been meticulously designed to enhance the travel experience for passengers.
