American Airlines Adds New Fights to NorthEast of the US

FORT WORTH- Over the weekend schedule update on October 15, 2023, American Airlines (AA) initiated the process of accepting reservations for its forthcoming network expansion in the US Northeast, which was previously announced by the airline.

This move comes after the failure to form NorthEast Alliance with JetBlue (B6), which could have been one of the biggest alliances in US Aviation history.

American Airlines NorthEast Flights

Here are the planned new and resumed routes as reported by Aeroroutes:

1. From New York LaGuardia to Bangor, starting on June 5, 2024, with one daily flight using an Embraer E175 (Republic Airways). This route was last served in the summer of 2020.
   • Flight AA4488: LGA1215 – 1349BGR E75 D
   • Flight AA4488: BGR1430 – 1605LGA E75 D
2. From New York LaGuardia to Hyannis, operating from June 5, 2024, until September 3, 2023, with one daily flight using an Embraer E175 (Republic Airways).
   • Flight AA4601: LGA0959 – 1110HYA E75 D
   • Flight AA4601: HYA1200 – 1325LGA E75 D
3. From New York LaGuardia to Martha’s Vineyard, scheduled from June 22, 2024, until September 3, 2024, with one daily flight using an Embraer E175 (Republic Airways).
   • Flight AA4630: LGA1130 – 1238MVY E75 D
   • Flight AA4630: MVY1314 – 1429LGA E75 D
4. From New York LaGuardia to Nantucket, planned from June 22, 2024, until September 3, 2024, with one daily flight using an Embraer E175 (Republic Airways). This route was last served in the summer of 2020.
   • Flight AA4599: LGA1310 – 1428ACK E75 D
   • Flight AA4599: ACK1459 – 1629LGA E75 D
5. From New York LaGuardia to Portland ME, starting on June 5, 2024, with two daily flights using Embraer E175 aircraft (Republic Airways). This route was last served until November 2021.
   • Flight AA4571: LGA0925 – 1048PWM E75 D
   • Flight AA4582: LGA1529 – 1652PWM E75 D
   • Return flights operate on the same day.
6. From Washington Reagan to Hyannis, scheduled from June 22, 2024, until September 3, 2024, with one daily flight using an Embraer E175 (Republic Airways).
   • Flight AA4766: DCA1130 – 1309HYA E75 D
   • Flight AA4766: HYA1410 – 1600DCA E75 D

New Canada Flights

1. Charlotte to Vancouver: From June 5, 2024, to September 3, 2024, there will be one daily flight using the Airbus A321neo aircraft. The schedule is as follows:
   • Flight AA2525 departs CLT at 18:25 and arrives in YVR at 21:15.
   • Flight AA2526 departs YVR at 22:10 and arrives in CLT at 06:27 the following day.
2. New York LaGuardia to Halifax: Effective June 5, 2024, this route will operate once daily using the E175 aircraft provided by Republic Airways. It’s noteworthy as it marks a resumption of service that was last offered between June and November 2019. The flight schedule is as follows:
   • Flight AA4459 departs LGA at 12:00 and arrives in YHZ at 15:00.
   • Flight AA4459 departs YHZ at 15:45 and arrives back at LGA at 17:05.
