GERMANY- Lufthansa (LH) Airline pilot, who was instructed to change the aircraft’s course from Catania to Malta, expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision in a weird way. He flew the plane in a flight pattern resembling a penis, which amused plane watchers.
The Lufthansa flight took off from Frankfurt and was originally scheduled to land in Catania (CTA).
However, the aircraft was directed to divert to Malta (MLA) during the flight due to the reduced operations at Catania’s Fontanarossa airport following a fire incident on July 16, as Flight Radar 24 reported.
Lufthansa pilot Draws weird Penis Shape in the Sky
Italian news website La Repubblica highlighted this incident, mentioning that it was one of several flights affected by the airport’s situation.
However, the Lufthansa pilot seemed to express his discontent with the change of plans by executing the diversion in a creative and unconventional manner before proceeding to Malta.
According to the FR24, the aircraft can be observed flying over and beyond Catania. It performed a flight path that resembled a male genital organ over the sea off the east coast of Sicily.
The distinctive phallic shape stretched over more than 24 kilometers, equivalent to the entire distance from Ċirkewwa to Marsaxlokk on the island of Malta. It was also nearly as wide as Malta itself. Further, the pilot took approximately 16 minutes to complete this maneuver.
After completing the distinctive flight path, the pilot returned to the original route, and the aircraft continued its journey to Malta, where it landed approximately half an hour later.
Not the First Time
The Lufthansa pilot is not the first to create phallic shapes in the sky. Various types of aircraft, including commercial and military planes, have been observed drawing phallic shapes in different locations around the world.
Even the Maltese archipelago had its share of lewd shapes in the sky last January when a flight pattern of an Armed Forces of Malta helicopter appeared to form a phallic drawing above Comino.
The pattern involved a series of intricate loops, which, when seen on a map, resembled the outline of a penis. In response, the AFM clarified that the image was taken out of context since it did not display the entire flight path.
