JEDDAH- In a bid to enhance safety and security measures, King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah has issued a comprehensive list of 30 items that are strictly prohibited from being carried in flight passengers’ baggage in the wake of an increase in Hajj Pilgrims.
The airport authorities have emphasized that these banned items will be confiscated upon detection. Further, passengers have no recourse to claim them.

30 items Banned for Hajj Pilgrims and Travellers on Flight
Targeted primarily at departing Hajj pilgrims, the airport’s alert urges individuals to exercise caution. Subsequently, refrain from including any of the dangerous and prohibited items in their luggage.
The list encompasses materials categorized as potential safety hazards. This includes knives, compressed gases, toxic liquids, blades, baseball bats, automatic skateboards, explosives, and crackers.
Sixteen specific items have been expressly forbidden from being transported in flight cabins.
Alongside the aforementioned items, firearms, magnetic materials, radioactive or corrosive materials, dangerous equipment, nail clippers, shears, meat cleavers, and ammunition are strictly prohibited from cabin baggage.
Furthermore, the airport has outlined an additional list of 14 hazardous materials that are banned from all types of baggage.
These materials include oxidants, organic peroxides, radioactive materials, electric shock devices, disabling devices, automatic skateboards, liquid oxygen devices, infectious biological materials, matches, lighters, and flammable liquids.

Consequences of Violating Prohibitions
Airport authorities underscore the severity of these restrictions, emphasizing that all 30 prohibited items will be confiscated without the possibility of reclaiming them.
