Goa in western India and Dubai now have direct flights offered by India’s low-cost airline Air India Express. A few changes have recently been made to the airline’s Dubai network from India, including the removal of two cities, the addition of two more, and an increase in frequency from a few more towns.
Air India Express
On March 27, Air India Express, the low-cost division of Air India, began operating its most recent service between Goa (GOI) and Dubai International Airport (DXB). The trip was a part of AI India Express‘ recent restructuring of its Dubai network, during which it chose to connect Goa directly with the well-liked Middle Eastern location.
According to Flightradar24.com, the first flight, IX 840, departed a little after 1:00 on Monday with 148 passengers on board and touched down in Dubai at 02:59 local time after a 3 hours, 25 minute trip.

Monday through Sunday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday will be the service’s four scheduled days of operation, with Wednesday through Sunday serving as the return day. Director of Operations for Air India Express and AirAsia India , Aloke Singh, said,
“Goa, one of the most well-known tourist destinations in India, will be the launch location for our first international flights under the Air India Express brand.
As the sole airline providing direct service from Goa to Dubai, we take great satisfaction in this fact. With 13 daily direct flights to/from Goa and connections to five internal locations, AirAsia India, which will soon merge with Air India Express, already serves the destination. In order to continue providing our clients with the greatest services, we aspire to be a part of the state’s tourist success story.
Flight from Goa to Dubai
The entire Dubai network of Air India Express has undergone some adjustments. Delhi (DEL) and Mumbai (BOM) have been dropped from the airline’s Dubai schedule, but Air India will still provide full service to these two destinations.
Another Indian city and DXB will shortly be linked by the carrier. The identical service offered by Air India will terminate a few days later on March 30 when Air India Express starts a weekly flight from Indore. From 2019 on, Dubai is the only nonstop airline that flies to Indore.

AirAsia India
As it gets ready to combine operations with another airline owned by the Tata Group, AirAsia India, Air India Express has made certain changes to its network. (now rebranded as AIX Connect).
Both airlines are looking towards having linked technology to manage customer-related processes, such as having a shared website, social media handles, and even call centres.
Both airlines have already begun working on acquiring all necessary approvals from authorities. Aloke Singh has stated that the combined company will have “enormous growth opportunities” because the operations of the both airlines are complementary. Both airlines may formally converge by the end of this year if everything goes as planned.
