In February 2023, Airbus delivered more aircraft than Boeing. Yet, compared to its European rival, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) situated in the United States (US) finalised and booked more orders.
Delivery of a special Airbus A350
Airbus supplied a total of 46 aircraft, mostly narrow-body (42 units), including three A220-300s and 39 members of the A320neo family (13 A320neo, 26 A321neos).
Four wide-body aircraft, three commercial (A330-900neo to Condor Airlines, A350 to Turkish Airlines, and A330 MRTT to the NATO multinational tanker fleet) were delivered by the European OEM.

The 400th aircraft for Turkish Airlines was an Airbus A350-900. The "One Heart" aeroplane, registered as TC-LGH, took children who had been impacted by the two earthquakes that had struck Turkey and Syria early in February 2023 on its inaugural journey.
Sales-wise, the backlog of the European manufacturer increased by 99 aircraft as a result of orders from British Airways for seven A320neo and three A321neo, 15 A320neos from an unknown carrier, and one private client for an A319neo.
The majority of the orders came from Qatar Airways, and Airbus increased its order book for aircraft by adding 23 A350-1000 and 50 A321neo models. In the midst of the disagreement with the Qatari carrier over the A350’s paint finish, these orders had been temporarily removed from the order book.
Boeing’s delivery stoppages
Boeing delivered 28 aircraft to clients in February 2023, with the 737 MAX accounting for the majority of those deliveries (24 in total). The remaining four were 737-800, 777F, 747F, and 787-10-based P8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft.
A number of deficiencies have hampered the US OEM’s deliveries, including the suspension of the Boeing 787’s because of a supplier’s incorrect analysis of the pressurisation bulkhead at the front of the Dreamliner.
Prior to the delivery halt, the 787-10 received approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and was delivered to United Airlines in February 2023. In March 2023, the FAA gave the aircraft manufacturer permission once more to deliver 787s to customers.
In February 2023, Boeing received just one order for five 737 MAX aircraft from an unnamed customer. Nonetheless, the US OEM completed a deal with Air India for 290 aircraft during the month, including 190 737 MAX, 20 787-9, and 10 777X-9 aircraft.
In February 2023, Air India also placed an order with Airbus for 250 aircraft. The order, which included 210 aircraft from the A320neo family and 40 from the A350, was not included in the OEM’s Orders and Delivery records.
