Akasa Air has already formally ordered 72 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, but the low-cost carrier intends to order an additional over 100 in the near future.

Since its launch in August 2022, Akasa Air has flown more than a million passengers and has completed six months of operation. With the delivery of one aircraft every 15 days, the airline has grown to a fleet size of 17 aircraft.
In order to make travel in India more accessible, Akasa Air has been gradually growing its network across the nation by adding routes to Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns.
The company recently received its 17th aircraft and plans to have an 18-plane fleet by the end of March. The airline will add 54 new planes over the next four years, bringing its total fleet to 72.
“The airline will place a substantial order for aircraft by the end of the year, bringing the fleet size to three digits.”

“We will continue to strengthen our network and service offerings and deliver an unsurpassed travel experience to our guests. Bangalore is unique to us in many ways, and we are proud of the increased connectivity we can provide from the city.”
“As we prepare our next phase of expansion to meet India’s growing domestic and international travel demands, we stay committed to our goal of connecting people, cultures, and cities, complemented by our friendly, efficient, and inclusive customer service,” he said.
Six months after its launch, the airline has over 700 weekly flights to 14 domestic cities, including Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Cochin, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Agartala, Goa, Vizag, Pune, Lucknow, Hyderabad, and Varanasi.
Akasa Air is Bengaluru’s third largest domestic carrier, with 36 daily flights. The airline has flown a total of 0.5 million passengers from the city, accounting for 70% of all passengers flown across its network to date.

Due to increased demand for air travel to and from Bengaluru, the airline has dramatically expanded its operations from the city, now connecting it with daily flights to 12 cities around the country.
