The Maharashtra government’s town planning agency, the City and Industrial Building Corporation (CIDCO), has given Adani Enterprises, the concessionaire for the development of the greenfield Navi Mumbai International Airport, the full 2,866 acres of land.
All 3,070 structures in the project area of the projected international airport, which will be the country's second airport, have been evicted by CIDCO.
The local planning body is also nearing completion on the rehabilitation of more than 5,000 families from the area’s villages.
CIDCO has reached a significant milestone in the development of the airport project, which is being developed by Adani Enterprises’ subsidiary Navi Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (NMIAL).
Navi Mumbai International Airport Private Ltd, an Adani Enterprises subsidiary and concessionaire, stated in March that the greenfield international airport has reached financial close following the execution of financing contracts with the State Bank of India.
The SBI has financed the whole Rs 12,770 crore financing requirement for the airport project.
