The excise department has sent a notice to SpiceJet to pay up ₹62-crore dues in taxes.

The SpiceJet airline is soon to add 60 new domestic flights to its summer schedule, including seven UDAN flights, eight industry-first flights, new connections, and other frequencies. 

Scheduled international flight services were stopped in March 2020 due to the pandemic. However, special flights have been running between India and 37 countries since July 2020 under air bubble arrangements.

SpiceJet recently announced that it will be sending some special flights to Hungary’s capital Budapest, to assist with the evacuation of Indians from war-hit Ukraine

SpiceJet on Tuesday informed consolidated earnings of Rs 42.45 crore for the three months ended December 2021 as higher passenger traffic and improved performance of the logistics segment propelled the airline into the black.

India’s domestic airline market is ranked as the third largest in the world and is expected to reach top rank in the next 10 to 15 years.

The airline company is challenging the Madras High Court division bench order that had on December 7 upheld its single judge’s decision to wind up the company.
