After two long years of COVID-19 restrictions, the Indian government has finally lifted the banning on all international flights relieving airline companies to now operate with full capacity.
Flights will restart, like the pre-pandemic time, from March 27.
Scheduled international flight services were stopped in March 2020 due to the pandemic. However, special flights have been running between India and 37 countries since July 2020 under air bubble arrangements.
“After having recognized the grown vaccination coverage across the international and in consultation with the stakeholders, the Government of India has decided to restart scheduled commercial international passenger services to/from India from 27.03.2022, i.e. beginning of Summer Schedule 2022,” read a report from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The outcome has come as good news for airline companies that we’re losing out on revenues because of restricted operations of flights.
This comes as a relief for the aviation sector that is reeling from high fuel costs for the aircraft and restricted journey across the world.”This is good news for all tourists and the industry, mainly before the prime summer season.
