ADELAIDE– Qantas Airways (QF) has resumed international flights from Adelaide (ADL), bringing back its seasonal nonstop service to Auckland (AKL) for a second consecutive summer. The route restarted on October 30, 2026, and will operate until April 26, 2027, restoring a direct connection between South Australia and New Zealand’s largest city.
The airline has added a fifth weekly departure during the peak Christmas and New Year holiday period, increasing travel options for passengers flying between the two cities. The additional Wednesday service will operate from December 14, 2026, to January 17, 2027, alongside the regular Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday flights.

Qantas’ Adelaide-Auckland Schedule
Qantas will operate four flights per week on the Adelaide–Auckland route for most of the seasonal schedule.
Departures from Adelaide are scheduled for 8:45 a.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, giving passengers several options across the week.
The additional Wednesday flight will lift the frequency to five weekly services during the peak holiday period.
The seasonal schedule is designed to accommodate increased demand for travel between Australia and New Zealand during the summer break, when passengers often travel for holidays and family visits.
The service is operated by a Boeing 737-800, with a scheduled flight time of approximately four hours and 15 minutes. Flight schedules may change during the season, so passengers are advised to check their booking details before departure.

Boeing 737-800 Service Offered by Qantas
The route will use Qantas’ Boeing 737-800 aircraft, configured with Business, Economy Plus and Economy seating.
The airline is offering passengers a range of onboard services, with all fares including 30 kilograms of checked baggage, complimentary Wi-Fi, inflight entertainment, meals and drinks.
Eligible travellers can also use the Adelaide Business Lounge before departure and the redesigned Auckland International Lounge after arrival or when connecting through the New Zealand hub.
These facilities provide additional options for passengers travelling in eligible cabins or holding qualifying frequent flyer status.
The service gives South Australian travellers a direct alternative to connecting through other Australian cities when flying to Auckland.
It also provides access to onward connections to destinations including Queenstown, Christchurch, Wellington and Dunedin through Jetstar’s domestic network.

Qantas Builds Adelaide Network
The return of the seasonal service follows its first operating season, when Qantas restored international flying from Adelaide. The airline is now extending the route for a second summer and adding capacity during the busiest part of the holiday period.
Qantas International CEO Cam Wallace said the carrier was pleased to bring the service back, noting that South Australian passengers had welcomed the opportunity to fly internationally from their home city.
The additional Wednesday departure is intended to build on that response and provide more flexibility during December and January, Travel Weekly reported.
The Adelaide–Auckland service is scheduled to remain in operation until April 26, 2027. Its seasonal return gives Qantas another opportunity to serve the trans-Tasman market while providing Adelaide passengers with a direct international connection without an intermediate stop in Sydney or Melbourne.
