SHANGHAI- Bombardier has delivered the first Global 8000 business jet in Asia to an undisclosed customer based in Shanghai (SHA), marking a significant milestone for the Canadian manufacturer as demand for ultra-long-range aircraft continues to grow across the region.
The delivery underscores the increasing preference among Asian operators for business jets capable of connecting global financial centers without refueling.
The arrival of the flagship aircraft also strengthens Bombardier’s presence in Asia, where long-distance corporate travel remains a priority.
Designed to combine speed, range, and operational flexibility, the Global 8000 is expected to appeal to customers seeking efficient nonstop travel between major cities such as Shanghai (SHA), New York (JFK), Dublin (DUB), and Sydney (SYD).

Global 8000 Delivery in China
The Global 8000 represents Bombardier’s latest flagship in the ultra-long-range business jet segment.
According to the manufacturer, the aircraft offers a maximum range of 8,000 nautical miles and a top speed of Mach 0.95, making it one of the fastest civilian aircraft currently in production.
These capabilities enable nonstop flights on some of the world’s longest business aviation routes.
Customers can travel directly between Shanghai and New York or connect to destinations such as Dublin and Sydney without intermediate stops, saving valuable time on international business trips.
Bombardier said the aircraft also delivers the industry’s lowest cabin altitude among production business jets at 2,691 feet. The lower cabin pressure is designed to reduce passenger fatigue during flights that often exceed 15 hours.
The aircraft features a four-zone cabin, allowing passengers to work, dine, relax and rest in separate living spaces.
Bombardier says the design is intended to maximize comfort while maintaining productivity throughout long-haul journeys.

Global 8000’s Performance Advantages
Beyond its impressive range and speed, the Global 8000 offers operational flexibility that distinguishes it from competing aircraft.
Its advanced wing incorporates leading-edge slats, allowing the jet to access approximately 30% more airports than its closest competitor.
This capability enables operators to fly directly to airports with shorter runways that are typically inaccessible to larger long-range business jets.
Despite its size and range, Bombardier says the aircraft delivers takeoff and landing performance comparable to that of a light jet.
That combination provides operators with greater scheduling flexibility while expanding the number of destinations they can serve.
Emmanuel Bornand, Bombardier’s Vice President of International Sales, said the first Asian delivery reflects the region’s continued demand for aircraft that combine long range, high speed and premium passenger comfort.

Asia Expansion of Bombardier
The delivery comes as Bombardier continues expanding its support network across the Asia-Pacific region.
Earlier this year, the company announced plans to significantly expand its Singapore Service Centre at Seletar Aerospace Park with an additional facility covering approximately 250,000 square feet.
The investment is expected to strengthen maintenance, repair and customer support capabilities for the growing fleet of Bombardier aircraft operating across Asia.
Bombardier believes Asia will remain one of its key growth markets as corporations, governments and high-net-worth individuals increasingly seek aircraft capable of nonstop global connectivity.
The Global 8000’s combination of 8,000-nautical-mile range, Mach 0.95 top speed and access to more airports positions it as a strong contender in the premium business aviation market, particularly for operators requiring maximum flexibility on intercontinental missions.
